Today we are in the gastronomic heavy weight category, as we will speak about one of the flagships of Northern Spanish cuisine. You can also find tortilla de patata (Spanish Omelette) in other regions of Spain, however I would personally say that it's not as good as in The North.

What is a Pintxo de Tortilla?

Tortilla de Patatas is a traditional Spanish dish similar to the standard omelette but with fried potatoes and normally caramelised onion in it. If you never tried it, it's definitely a must if you come to Northern Spain.

A Pintxo de Tortilla is a slice of tortilla, served with a slice of bread.

How to Pronounce Tortilla

Tortilla -> /Tor.tee.ya/

Pintxo (This is the Basque way of spelling it, but in Cantabria it's Pincho as "tx" in Basque is pronounced as "ch") -> /Peen.cho/

My favourite type

In my opinion, the best tortilla is the one that is not cooked enough for the mixture to become fully solid, but not undercooked enough for it to be liquid. And there's a restaurant that absolutely nails this sweet spot:
